Red Lobster sales go up after Beyonce endorsement

Beyonce released her new hit single 'Formation' this week- end which she superbly performed on Sunday's suberbowl, and has her still currently trending on Twitter. Thanks to a lyric in her new song, Red Lobster was also much the talk of social media on the week- end and the restaurant saw an explosion in sales on Sunday of up to 33% compared to last year. According to Red Lobster spokesperson Erica Ettori the restaurant was said to be mentioned on Twitter 42,000 times in a single hour and trended for the first time since its establishment.

Much controversy surrounds Beyonce's new song which video highlights police brutality, Hurricane Katrina and black American culture. She also touched on the subject of her on own wealth and influence, saying "I might just be a black Bill Gates in the making."

Meanwhile the Twiter account of Red Lobster capitalized on the hype of her new single by tweeting some cringe-worthy pun's on the song. On tweet read: "'Cheddar Bey Biscuits' has a nice ring to it, don't you think?"  Twitter users responded to tweet saying: "Yall had hours and this is what yall come up with?" one user responded and another one said: "You missed such an opportunity here, @redlobster. You could have done so much more." The restaurant quickly responded by tweeting:"You try to bake Cheddar Bay Biscuits and tweet at the same time! #harderthanitlooks #Formation,"
